At first, picking up a camera terrified me. I went to school for film writing; I didn’t know anything technical, but there came multiple instances when my inexperience hindered me from properly being able to communicate how I wanted to capture a moment.
I eventually told myself that I had no choice; I needed to learn, and I quickly fell in love with it all — the relationships you create, the collaboration, the split seconds that can last forever.
I love to work with different criteria because there’s always something to be learned from a new experience — humility, a new perspective, and a greater understanding. Whether that be portraits or concert photography, I love the erratic, organic nature of it all.
